In March 2008 Ine Aasted-Madsen - Van Stiphout,
Member of the Netherlands National Parliament, paid a visit to
the Asia's Hope orphanage. On that occasion the orphanage's
mother Tutu told that her that a friend of hers, Khun Preecha,
together with his wife Khun Chu, had for a few years now
taken care of twenty-five children from the Hmong tribe.
They lived in a simple dwelling on a plot of land for free.
However, the owner now wanted to sell the plot of land
and Preech, Chu and the children were about to be evicted.
Tutu asked for help for Preech, Chu and the children.

Ine Aasted-Madsen consulted with the Dutch
who before had contributed to the development of Asia's Hope
and it was decided to launch an effort of support. As acquiring
a piece of land and building an orphanage was too costly for
that small group of people in April 2008 the Stichting Support
Hilltribe Children Asia was established, a foundation according
to Dutch law. Ine Aasted-Madsen is chairwoman of the foundation.
As a Dutch foundation cannot acquire land in Thailand in May
2008 a company limited according to Thai law was established
with the same name as the foundation.
The Foundation - State of affairs.
The plot of land where Preecha and the children had
their dwelling has been sold in April 2008 and they
were evicted from it. Most children returned to the
mountains. Fortunately this was in the middle of the
main school holiday. But schools started again in May.
In June the foundation gathered enough money to
temporarily rent a building, build some summary
toilet shower and cooking facilities, buy mattresses.
So the children could come back and go
to school, thus preventing them missing out of a school
term, let alone a whole school year. Still they need
school uniforms and books. On a short term the
foundation must find a structural solution.
For this we depend on everyone's support for the foundation!
